Family's Tribute To A31 Biker

The family of a motorcyclist who died following a collision in Ferndown have paid tribute to him.

A silver Honda motorcycle collided with a silver Peugeot 206 at the junction of Uddens Drive and the A31 in Ferndown at 7.15am on Tuesday 20 March 2012.

The motorcyclist, 54-year-old David Bartholomew, was resuscitated by a police officer at the scene and was taken in a critical condition to Poole Hospital but sadly died the following day.

David Bartholomew’s family said:

“David was, among many things, the best friend anyone could have – tragically taken from this world doing
something he loved, riding a motorcycle.

“He leaves behind his beloved partner Lindsey, his children, James and Charlotte, close family members and dear friends… and a garage with a bike collection to make any avid biker proud.

“We are grateful for the support we have received from the police and friends during this difficult time, but wish to make a special thank you to the off-duty police officer, paramedic and medical teams who helped make Barty’s last moments as comfortable as possible.

“We ask, at this sad time, to have our privacy respected, but for all who knew him to think of the wonderful memories that they shared together – it shouldn’t be a difficult task.”
