The Foo Fighters have been announced as the latest headliners for next year's Isle of Wight Festival.

Dave Grohl's rockers have been added to the bill which already includes the Kings of Leon headlining the Friday night and newly-reformed Pulp taking to the stage ahead of the Foos on the Saturday.

John Giddings, festival promoter, said:

"What band is more fitting to bring back for our 10th birthday than the Foos?

"They gave it their all in 2006 and have only become bigger and better since."

The Foo Fighters, who have produced hits including Everlong and Best of You, have had two number one albums in the UK and four top 10 albums.

The Isle of Wight Festival 2011 takes place June 10-12 at Seaclose Park, Newport, Isle of Wight and tickets go on sale this Friday.
