Firefighters have rescued a horse that got stuck in a river in Ferndown.

Crews were called to Trent Way at 6pm on Tuesday. When they arrived on the scene the horse, called Fingel, was stuck in at a depth of approximately one metre and suffering from cold.

It took them two hours to get him out using a big harness.

Fingel is the third animal to be rescued by firefighters from rivers and swimming pools in Dorset in the last week.
