A hotel in Bournemouth has been evacuated overnight after it caught fire.

A hundred firefighters spent three hours tackling the fire at the Heathlands hotel on Grove Road.

30 people were woken and removed from the building.

It started in one of the bedrooms on the second floor just before 2am, but is now out.

Area Manager and Incident Commander Ben Ansell said: "Crews have done a really good job in containing the spread of this fire. At this moment we are unsure of the extent of the damage caused and also do not know the cause of the fire but we will be conducting an investigation as soon as we are able to."
