Man Arrested Over Poole Park Stabbing

A man's been arrested by police after a 59-year-old man was stabbed in the stomach in Poole Park.

The victim managed to walk to hospital after being attacked on Saturday night, and needed surgery.

A 37-year-old man from Poole has been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent and is currently assisting police with their enquiries.

A Dorset Police statement said:
"The victim was stabbed once in the stomach. He has undergone surgery and remains in hospital receiving treatment. His condition is not life-threatening.
"Officers have been searching Poole Park for the weapon used in the incident and this search will continue today.
"If anyone finds a knife or sharp object in Poole Park or discarded nearby, they are urged to not touch the item but call Dorset Police immediately."
The incident happened sometime between 6.15pm and 7pm on Saturday 23 January, near to the crazy golf.
Nothing was taken from the victim and the offender ran toward the war memorial. The victim then managed to walk to Poole Hospital where he needed surgery on a wound to his stomach.
