A pedestrian's died after being hit by a coach on the A35.
The collision took place near Bloxworth at around 03:00 on Saturday, not far from Morden Park Corner.
Police say a 24-year-old man from Southport, Merseyside, died after suffering serious head injuries.
Part of the A35 was closed for eight hours for investigation work.
The coach was en-route to Weymouth to collect passengers, and was empty at the time of the crash. The driver - a 55-year-old man from Bournemouth - wasn't hurt.
A Dorset Police spokesman said "The pedestrian was walking towards the Bere Regis direction when he was struck by a Volvo single-decker coach, coloured cream, being driven in the same direction."
"As a result of the collision the pedestrian sustained fatal head injuries and sadly died at the scene."
Anyone who may have witnessed the collision should call Dorset Police on 101.
