Police have named a man who died crossing a railway line in Dorset.
A British Transport Police spokesman said:
“I can confirm that the man who died after trying to cross the tracks at Dorchester South rail station on Sunday, 19 August has been formally identified as 24-year-old Joseph Silvey from Cheltenham, Gloucestershire.
“BTP officers and South Western Ambulance Service medics were called to the incident, which was reported to BTP at 4.19am.
“The incident is currently being treated as non-suspicious and appears to have been a tragic accident. Our thoughts remain with Mr Silvey’s family at this very sad and difficult time for them.
“An inquest into Mr Silvey’s death has been opened and adjourned and officers will prepare a file for the Coroner.”
