Man Released Over New Milton Woman's Death

A New Milton man who was arrested on suspicion of murder has been released without charge.

The 42 year old man was questioned in connection with the death of a 43 year old woman from the town. Officers say he's now been released with no further action being taken.
 
The woman was found at an address in Cadhay Close, New Milton, suffering from head injuries at around 5pm on Monday, February 22.  She was taken by ambulance to Southampton General Hospital where she died from her injuries just after 11.30pm that evening.
 
A post-mortem examination conducted by a Home Office Pathologist yesterday, Tuesday, February 23, revealed that the woman, who has been named as Jennifer Hurl, died from head injuries.
 
Detective Inspector Nick Heelan who was leading the investigation into Jennifer Hurl’s death said: “All unexpected deaths are treated seriously by Hampshire Constabulary and are fully investigated.  After conducting extensive enquiries into Ms Hurl’s death, from all the evidence gathered and the outcome of the post-mortem, everything indicates that this death is the result of a very tragic accident.”
 
A report has been submitted to the Coroner.
