More women aged over 35 in Dorset are having abortions than under 18s- according to new figures.
Last year nearly 900 women had terminations across the county. 126 were under 18, but 154 were aged 35 plus.
Sue Meakin's the sexual health manager at Bournemouth and Poole NHS. She told Heart it's partly because older women didn't get such good sex education:
"Most people just think they would know about their periods by then and what the risks are, but actually much of this population has missed sex education in schools, so that's why they're really not sure about this".
