Police Chase Stolen Lorry Through Dorset

Two men have been arrested after police chased a stolen skip lorry through parts of Dorset last night.

The lorry was taken from the Dorset services depot at Poundbury at around 10.20pm last night (Sunday 11th December).

Police tracked it to the C12 road northbound near Sherborne and signalled the driver to stop, but the lorry carried on.

Officers ended up chasing it through Sherborne, Shaftesbury, Blandford and Sturminster Marshall.

Police say the vehicle was driven dangerously and on a number of occassions the driver tried to reverse around police cars, damaging two.
No-one was hurt and the chase ended on the A350 near to the A35 Upton bypass.

A 28-year-old-man from Poole was arrested and as a result of further enquiries a 34-year-old man, also from Poole, was arrested.

Witnesses to any of the incident are asked to contact Dorset Police on 101 or 0800 555 111.
