Detectives are appealing for information to find a man after a robber made off with cash after threatening a female hairdresser at a salon in Poole.

At 10.20am on Thursday, 28 January 2010, a man went into Chop Hair for Men at 353 Wallisdown Road, Poole, and threatened the lone lady hairdresser with a knife before making off with an amount of money.

Detective Constable Shanena Stewart, of Bournemouth & Poole CID, said: “The victim was in a rear office when the man – who was wearing a balaclava – demanded money.

“He produced a knife and pointed it at the terrified woman before he took the money from the till before he left the store, running along nearby Bryant Road behind the salon and then towards Alder Road.

“I am now able to release pictures of a man that I wish to speak with about the incident – I believe that this man has information that is vital to my investigation and I urge anyone who recognises this distinctively dressed man to contact the police.

“I’d also like to hear from anyone who has any other information about the robbery, or about the identity of the man responsible.

“The victim wasn’t physically injured during the incident and she reacted very well by doing nothing to antagonise the robber.”

Witnesses and anyone with information should call Dorset Police in confidence on 01202 or 01305 22 22 22 or the free and anonymous Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111 where mobile phone tariffs may apply.
