Teenager Injured When Car Catches Fire

A 19 year old is being treated at Poole Hospital after the car he was driving crashed into trees and caught fire in Bournemouth.

Police say it happened at around 1.48am on Monday 15th August 2011 along Turbary Park Avenue.

The silver Vauxhall Zafira was travelling eastbound when it left the road, hit a lamppost and then a tree. Witnesses recall hearing a loud bang before it burst into flames.

Dorset Fire and Rescue service and ambulances were on the scene shortly after. Local authorities also attended due to reports of a tree in a bad condition.

The teenager is being treated for burns and leg, hip and neck injuries.
