Teenager May Need Surgery After Attack

Police in Christchurch are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward after an assault in the town.

The incident, which saw a 17-year-old girl attacked by two other girls as she tried to board a bus, happened outside Specsavers Opticians on High Street at around 4pm on Sunday 4 November 2012.

The victim, from the Christchurch area, suffered a fractured eye socket and a damaged cheekbone in the incident and has now learned she may require surgery.

Police Constable Bill Nightingall, of Christchurch police, said:

"I am appealing for witnesses to this assault to find out exactly what happened.

"A young girl has suffered some very nasty injuries and we are very keen to track down those responsible.

"We are particularly keen to talk with a woman who stopped to speak to the victim after the incident and who offered to call the
police.

"All calls will be treated in the strictest of confidence, and anyone with information is urged to call Dorset Police on the non emergency number 101."

At this time no arrests have been made.
