Teenager Threatened With Meat Cleaver

Detectives in Bournemouth are looking for two men who threatened a 16-year-old boy with a meat cleaver before stealing his mobile phone.

It happened on Charminster Road at the junction with Lowther Road, at around 1.10am on Saturday, 23 July 2011.

The victim was not injured – his Apple iPhone 4 was stolen.

Detective Constable Rich Saunders, of Bournemouth CID, said:

“Following further enquiries, I am now able to release a CCTV image that shows two men who may be able to help me with my investigation.

“One of these men is also shown on CCTV in a nearby supermarket, in which he purchased a can of lager.

“I would urge these two men, and anyone who recognises them, to contact Dorset Police immediately.”

Following the robbery, the offenders walked off along Lowther Road, telling the victim that he should walk in the opposite direction.

The victim soon alerted a nearby taxi driver who called the police.

DC Saunders continued:

“This was a highly distressing and cowardly attack on a lone teenage boy and it is essential that anyone with any information about this incident contacts police at the earliest opportunity.

“All calls will be treated in the strictest of confidence.”
