Traffic Warden Assaulted In Dorchester

Police in Dorchester are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward after a traffic warden was assaulted in the town.

The incident, in which the driver of a silver BMW grabbed hold of a female traffic warden before driving off, happened along High West Street at around 10.05am on Thursday, 13 October 2011.

The victim, from Portland, sustained minor injuries to her arm.

Police Constable Simon Lancey, of Dorchester police, said:

"I am appealing for anyone who witnessed this incident, and anyone with any information about the car or the driver to get in touch as soon as possible.

"I would also urge the motorist and anyone else who may have been in the vehicle to do the right thing and get in touch with police.

"It is important that I establish exactly what happened."
