Two Injured In Dorchester Collision

Police in Dorchester are appealing for witnesses to come forward after 3 cars collided in the Grimstone area.

At just before 4pm on Thursday, 18 November 2010, police received a report of the smash collision along the A37 just to the north side of Grimstone and close to the A356 Frampton turning.

A silver Renault Modus, registered to a Weymouth woman, a silver Vauxhall Astra, registered to a Hampshire company, and a red Honda Civic, registered to a Taunton company, were involved in the collision.

The driver of the Renault Modus, a Weymouth woman, sustained cuts to her hand. The driver of the Vauxhall Astra, a Somerset man, sustained bruising and whiplash.

Both drivers were treated at Dorset County Hospital in Dorchester.

The driver of the red Honda Civic was uninjured.

The road was closed until approximately 6pm, while the debris was cleared from the road and the vehicles were recovered.

Police constable Sara Mackay, of Dorset Police’s traffic unit, said:

“I am appealing for anyone who witnessed this collision, and anyone who noticed the manner of driving of any of the three vehicles prior to the collision, to contact me.

“All calls will be treated in the strictest of confidence.”
