Volunteers To Help With Poole's Olympic Legacy

Borough of Poole's Leisure Services team are looking for volunteers to help them as we celebrate London 2012.

With so much going on 2012 is set to be an exciting year and the council wants as many people as possible to get involved to help support and deliver a number of celebration events.

We are offering you the chance to volunteer at some exciting and inspiring events which will provide an Olympic Legacy in Poole following the London 2012 Olympic Games.

If you have a friendly, approachable manner with a can do attitude then we'd like to hear from you. If you have any customer service experience then that would also be ideal but is not essential. Volunteer duties include:

* To deliver an outstanding visitor welcome via communicating useful, accurate, appropriate information in an engaging way.

* To be friendly and efficient hosts to spectators and other visitors, offering assistance to all, including those with accessibility requirements, and providing fantastic customer service.

 * To help manage crowd movement and provide a safe and enjoyable environment within the boundaries of the event site.

* Work as an effective team member.

Cllr Judy Butt, Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Public Engagement and Participation, Borough of Poole, said:

"It's so simple to get involved, via e-mail or just pick up the phone. There are three fantastic events to choose from or you could help at all three. If you have never voluteered before why not give it a try and see if it's for you. These  superb community events really need your support and energy to succeed and you are guarenteed to have a super day and a lasting memory of the Olympic events and others in Poole. It's set to be a hugely impressive and stimulating day, please share it with us"

Volunteers must be aged 18 years or over. If you would like to register to volunteer please send your name, contact number and email to recreation.development@poole.gov.uk or call 01202 261312.
