Search For Weymouth Burglar

Police in Weymouth are investigating a burglary in the harbour area of the town.

The incident, in which a man gained access to an insecure property along Hope Street, happened between 1.55pm and 2.15pm on Wednesday 3 October 2012. 

The offender was disturbed and quickly left the scene. 

Nothing was stolen. 

Police Constable Adam Bayliss, of Weymouth police, said: 

"I am now in a position to release a description of the offender." 

The man has been described as:

-white

-aged 40 to 50 years old

-approximately five feet eight inches tall 

-of medium build. 

-He has dark hair and a distinct purple weeping sore on his face taking up the majority of his left cheek. 

-He speaks with a slight accent which is possibly Irish and was wearing dark clothing and a dark baseball cap. 

PC Bayliss continued: 

"I am appealing for anyone who witnessed this incident, and anyone who recognises the man, to contact me urgently.

"I would also like to remind members of the public to keep their properties secure at all times."
