Fareham Driver Dies In A31 Crash At Wimborne

A Fareham man's died after the camper van he was driving collided with a lorry on the A31 in Dorset.

A grey and white Fiat Autorail motorhome was invovled in a crash with a yellow DAF tipper truck on the A31 outside the Wimborne Service Station, near Wimborne just after 10 this morning (July 24).


The driver of the motorhome, a man in his 60s from Fareham, died at the scene. His wife, a woman in her 60s, who was the front seat passenger of the motorhome, was airlifted to Southampton General hospital with serious but not life threatening injuries.

The driver of the tipper truck, a man in his 40s from Weymouth, was taken to Poole hospital with serious but not life threatening injuries.

Dorset Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident or the manner of driving of the vehicles prior to the collision to contact Acting Sergeant Sarah Jones of the Traffic Unit on 101.
