Wimborne Wins Britain In Bloom Trophy!

The National Britain in Bloom Small Town Trophy is going to be paraded through Wimborne after the town won the award at the weekend.

It's the first time the town has won the award in it's 20 year history and it will be paraded through the streets on the morning of Tuesday 9th October - commencing from the Allendale Centre at 9.45am.

The celebration parade will be lead by Town Crier Chris Brown and his Deputy Mel Gudger and will finish at the Minster Green around 10.00am where they will meet with members of the Wimborne in Bloom Committee.

The Town Mayor and Mayoress Cllr John and Mrs Ann Burden will also be there.

Anthony Oliver, Chairman of Wimborne in Bloom said:

"Speaking on behalf of the Committee I would like to thank everyone who has been involved this year, as undoubtedly this has all helped to ensure the Trophy has at last arrived in Wimborne."

The Britain in Bloom Awards Ceremony took place over the weekend in Guernsey.
