Police are appealing for witnesses and information following an armed robbery at a betting shop in London Colney on Friday 21st December and have released an image in relation to the incident.

Shortly before 9pm a man entered the Ladbrokes on High Street and demanded cash from a member of staff behind the counter at the bookmaker.

The man was holding what is believed to me a handgun. He then left the store with a quantity of cash and made off in an unknown direction.

The offender is described as a white male around 6ft 2in tall and in his late 20s or early 30s. He has blue/green eyes and spoke with an eastern European accent.

He was wearing a dark grey hooded jumper with the hood pulled up over his head, black scarf covering his nose and mouth areas, black jogging bottoms and white trainers. He was wearing a high visibility vest over the top of the hoody.

DC Rebecca Primrose, from the Local Crime Unit in St Albans, said: “This was a distressing incident for the staff at the betting shop and we are determined to find the person responsible for it.

“If you saw a male of this description entering or leaving Ladbrokes, or acting suspiciously in the area, please get in touch with police as soon as possible.”
