Samuel L Jackson's hosted a celebrity charity golf tournament in Hertfordshire to raise money for dementia and Alzheimer's research.

The Affinity Real Estate Shooting Stars Benefit event took place at The Grove Hotel near Watford on Friday 14 & Saturday 15 June 2013.

Lewis Hamilton, Sir Steve Redgrave, Desperate Housewives actor Jesse Metcalfe and cricketer Andrew Strauss were among the stars expected to take part in the event.

The Pulp Fiction and Django Unchained star has spoken about how this year's event is more personal to him than ever, following the tragic passing of his mother in 2012 after a long battle with the disease.

"The money raised from this year's Affinity Real Estate Shooting Stars Benefit will go towards important research so that we can help others who are suffering in the future," he said.

"I'm really looking forward to getting on the course. We don't just invite the best golfers, we invite good people (who are a little bit famous!) that people want to hang out and have fun with."
