Police are appealing for information and witnesses after a handbag was stolen from a car in Wymondley Road, near Letchworth last week.
The incident took place between 11am and 11.45am on Friday, May 6 when a handbag containing cash and other items was stolen from a green Volkswagen Golf in Wymondley Wood Car Park just off Wymondley Road.
PC Des Kelly said: “This is an isolated location mainly used by dog walkers. The offender smashed the window of the car to get inside and steal the handbag and I would appeal to anyone who may have been in the area and saw or heard anything to contact me. A green saloon type vehicle was seen at the time in the area and I would like to speak to the driver of this car, or anyone who may have seen it and can provide more details.
“If you can help, please call me via the non-emergency number on 0845 33 00 222. Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers, the independent charity, on 0800 555 111.”
