POLICE are appealing for witnesses and information following two burglaries in a block of flats in Harpenden on Wednesday 6 April.
The first burglary happened between 7am and 7pm on Stephen’s Court, Station Road. One or more offenders forced their way into a flat and stole a number of items.
The items included a silver Tiffany bracelet and ring set, a silver Tiffany pen, a Dior necklace with ‘2Dior’ embedded in the chain, and a Links of London charm bracelet with a snowflake, a cocktail glass with a red cherry and a four-leaf clover on it.
The second burglary happened between 8.40am and 6.05pm at the same address. One or more offenders forced their way into a flat and stole a number of items.
The items included a size 10 Ben de Lisi dusky pink ball gown with tags, a blue Debenhams ball gown in a size 8, a blue/purple size 8 Debenhams prom dress with a fireworks pattern in the straps and a pale blue strapless prom dress in size 8 from Debenhams.
They also took two pairs of size 4 Kurt Geiger shoes, one well-worn in a pink colour and one with gold and bronze snakeskin effect.
PC Caroline Smith, investigating from the Local Crime Unit, said: “We believe these burglaries are linked and I would encourage anyone who recognises these items or thinks they have seen someone trying to sell them to come forward.
“The dresses and shoes in particular are quite unusual items to be stolen and all have very distinctive descriptions.
“Alternatively, if you saw any suspicious activity around the flats on April 6, please do contact me.”
