Get yourself screened for Chlamydia and you can get free cinema tickets.

All 15-24 year olds are being encouraged to get tested for Chlamydia, and in return, can walk away with a free trip to watch the latest box office.

NHS Hertfordshire is offering a free cinema tickets to all between those ages who complete the test before the end of March.

Steve Reynolds, Lead Chlamydia Nurse for NHS Hertfordshire told Heart: “Chlamydia is the most common sexually transmitted infection amongst young people and because it has no symptoms, most people who have it won’t know they’ve got It. If left untreated, Chlamydia can lead to nasty complications and could prevent you having children in the future.

“The good news is that getting tested is really easy, quick and discreet. There is no embarrassing examination and no need to go to your doctor if you don’t want to. It’s just a simple urine test and you’ll receive your result back within a fortnight. If the test shows you have Chlamydia, don’t worry, as it can be treated with one dose of anti-biotics.

“Its important that all young people take a Chlamydia test once a year and we hope that this offer of a trip to the big screen will encourage as many people as possible to get themselves screened.”

To help raise awareness of Chlamydia and how easy it is to get tested, advisors from NHS Hertfordshire are taking to the streets this week to encourage young people to take the test.
