Jail For Luton Man Who Killed Wife

A Polish man's admitted killing his wife just hours before his murder trial was due to start.

32 year-old Jan Michal Biliniewicz pleaded guity to the murder of his 25 year-old wife Monika at their Downs Road home in Luton last autumn and has been jailed for 19 years.

He admitted killing Monika Biliniewicz, following an incident at their home on September 22, 2010. Their 6 year-old daughter was living with relatives in Poland at the time.

At the conclusion of the hearing, DI Jon Dick from the Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit, said: "This is a very sad case which has left a young girl parentless and a family bereft. While this man has admitted his guilt it will never bring Monika back. Our thoughts are with her family at this sad time."

Jan Michal Biliniewicz was sentenced to 19 years in prison.
