Justin Lee Collins In Court

Comedian Justin Lee Collins has appeared in court in St Albans to plead not guilty to charges of harrassing his ex-girlfriend.

Collins, 37, appeared in the dock at St Albans Crown Court on Monday 2 April 2012 wearing a jacket, tie and jeans.

He is charged with causing computer games developer Anna Larke fear of violence between January 11 and August 1 last year.

The shaggy-haired bearded Bristolian said "not guilty" loudly and clearly when the charge was put to him.

Collins, who was on Channel 4's Friday Night Project and is currently in the West End show Rock of Ages, will stand trial by a jury on 24 September 2012.

He was granted bail by Judge John Plumstead with a condition that he does not contact Ms Larke, her mother, father or brother.

Collins split from his wife of seven years Karen soon after Christmas 2010.
