Eighties pop star Kim Wilde has been filmed singing to passengers on her train journey home to Hertfordshire after a Christmas party.

The 'Kids In America' singer, who lives near Knebworth and is now famous for her gardening, treated fellow passengers to a rendition of 'Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree' - a version of which she took to No.3 in the charts in 1987 with Mel Smith from Smith and Jones.

She also did a version of 'Kids In America' - her debut solo hit from 1981.

Footage of Kim singing on a First Capital Connect service, travelling through the Potters Bar area, has become a big hit on YouTube.

Kim was with her brother, Ricky Wilde, who afterwards Tweeted "BIG Thankyou to everyone for all your beautiful messages, can not believe how a moment of mad fun has spread like wildfire! XX"

Kim Tweeted: "Truly,i am overwhelmed and confused at such a huge reaction to my night out on the tiles. Making me giggle a LOT: )"
