Police have told Heart a fire at a house in Luton was started deliberately.

No one was inside the property early Friday morning when the fire was started but neighbours raised the alarm when they were woken by the smell of smoke.

The arson caused damage to the front door and hallway of the house on Stanford Road.

PC Samantha Shane is investigating the attack and is keen to hear from anyone who was in Stanford Road around 2am on Friday (7th March 2014) and may have seen anything suspicious.
