Luton: CCTV Issued After Bottle Attack

3 November 2012, 07:30

Detectives investigating an assault which happened this week in a public house in Luton have released CCTV pictures of a man they want to trace.

The incident happened at 6pm on Monday (Oct 29), in the White House Public Bar in Luton town centre.  The 28 year-old victim was sitting at a table with friends and was approached from behind by an unknown man who, without any warning, struck the victim to the back of his head with a bottle.

The offender hit the victim several times before leaving the scene.

The victim suffered a serious head injury which required approximately 20 stitches.

The offender is described as a black/mixed race man, 6' tall and approximately 28 years of age. He had a slim build and wore a blue top and had a distinctive man bag over his shoulder.

Detective Constable Colin Knight, investigating, is keen to speak to anyone who can help identify the man in the attached pictures.

DC Knight said: "This appears to be an unprovoked attack on the victim who will now be scarred for life. I would urge anyone who can help piece together what happened on Monday night and anyone who can help identify the man within these CCTV pictures to come forward and help with this inquiry."
