A man in his 20s was killed when he was hit by a car at Ashwell near Baldock in Herts early this morning (Sat).
The man, from Royston, was struck by a black BMW as he walked eastwards close to Slip End Farm on the A505. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
It is thought that other vehicles may have hit the man and drove on.
Other drivers stopped to help.
Sergeant Neil Emmerson from Herts Police Road Policing said: "We are carrying out enquiries at the scene of the collision, however we would like to speak to anyone who drove eastbound on the A505 this morning around the time of the incident at 5.30 am or shortly after. You may not have realised you had been involved in an collision but we'd like to speak to you as you could greatly assist the investigation."
