The month-old piglet is enjoying bonding with mum at the maternity wing of the red river hogs enclosure where it will be nice and warm over winter.

The little hoglet, the fourth born to 11-year-old Bahati and father Salvadore, has yet to be named or sexed by keepers, but is a very welcome the new arrival.

Red river hogs originate from west and central Africa and enjoy a diet of fruit and grasses.

Zoo visitors will have to wait until the weather warms up again for the little piggie to make its public debut in the paddock, but when the time comes it’s sure to hog the limelight.
