Police are trying to find people who may have seen a pregnant woman being robbed while walking with her two daughters in Luton town centre.

The 25 year old was walking towards the main shopping centre when three men pushed her from behind and grabbed her purse from the top of her pushchair.

The robbery happened outside the Arndale Centre in Bute Street between 2pm and 2.45pm on Wednesday 1 August 2012.  Police say the men ran off towards Chapel Street.

The first man is described as black, approximately 5 feet 9 tall, wearing a yellow t-shirt and black jeans. The second and third offenders were both black, one wore a black hooded top and the other wore a white t-shirt.

The officer in charge of this investigation, PC Tim Worden, is keen to trace other shoppers who may have witnessed what happened.

PC Worden said: "This is a very busy area during the day and it is possible that other shoppers noticed these men and may be able to help identify them. I would urge these people to contact the police, in confidence."
