Stab Death: Footballer Charged

A teenage footballer's been charged with murder over the death of a 15 year old girl found stabbed at a house in Ampthill, Bedfordshire.

The body of Megan-Leigh Peat (right) was found at a semi-detached house in Ailesbury Road, Ampthill early on Saturday 9 June 2012.

Andrew Hall, 18, from Robin Close, Flitwick, had been offered a professional development contract at Premiership club Stoke City.

He was transferred from hospital on Wednesday 13 June, where he had been under guard while receiving treatment for injuries.

He was taken to Greyfriars police station in Bedford for questioning about the murder of Megan-Leigh Peat and was then charged with her murder.

Megan, 15, died at a friend's house in Ailsebury Road in Ampthill at around 1.30 on Saturday morning. She lived with her mother, brother and mother's partner in Flitwick Road, Westoning, Bedfordshire.

Hall was due to appear at Luton Magistrates Court on Thursday 14 June.
