Teen arrested after fatal stabbing

A 17 year old boy has been arrested on suspicion of murdering a teenager, found with stab wounds at a sports ground on Saturday afternoon.

17-year-old Michael Simwanza was stabbed in Kingsway Recreation Ground in Luton on at 3.15pm on Saturday afternoon.

He was from the Farley Hill area of Luton, where he lived with his mum and his younger sister and brother.

A post-mortem, which was carried out on Sunday, revealed he died from a stab wound to the chest.

A 17-year old boy from Luton handed himself into to Cambridgeshire Police last night (Monday November 1st). He is now being held at Luton Police Station and is being questioned by the Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Team.
