120 Firearms Seized In Brundall

Officers attended searched a bungalow in Holmesdale Road on Monday 16 May 2016 and discovered a large quantity of firearms.

Searches of the property have been taking place since Tuesday 17 May and has resulted in approximately 120 firearms being seized, including a mixture of handguns and long barrelled weapons.

Detective Chief Inspector Andy Coller from Norfolk Constabulary said: "Our searches at the property are now complete and I would like to thank local residents for their patience whilst this process has been taking place.

"A cordon placed around the address to ensure officers could carry out their investigations safely has now been lifted and I would like to reassure the public that they have not been at risk at any time.

"The investigation is still in its early stages and there are a number of lines of enquiries for us to pursue. The firearms we have seized will have to be assessed and classified and this process will take some time.”

A man in his 60’s and from the Brundall area has been arrested in connection with firearms offences. He has since been released on police bail pending further enquiries until Wednesday 20 July 2016.
