Police are hunting for a golden eagle which has escaped from its enclosure.
Suffolk Police launched the search today after a member of the public reported the bird of prey was missing from its home in Stratford St Mary.
Officers offered reassurance that the bird had recently been fed - but may snack on small animals.
A spokesman added: ``Due to wind conditions it's thought the bird is likely to head north.
"Although it's known the large eagle has recently been fed it is possible that it could prey on small animals, and police are urging members of the public to report any sightings of the bird which has a ring and tethers on.''
People should not approach the eagle and are asked to contact Suffolk Police on 101.
