A 23-year-old man's been charged in connection with the death of an elderly woman in Norwich.
Her body was found in a home on the Avenues on Sunday 22 Febuary.
A Home Office post mortem examination revealed that the woman, who was aged in her 80s, died of injuries as a result of a sustained assault.
It also revealed that she had been sexually assaulted.
Alexander Kerry, of Kinghorn Road in Norwich was arrested on the same day in connection with the incident.
He was taken to Wymondham Police Investigation Centre for questioning and was charged this afternoon (Wednesday 25 February) with one count of murder and one count of assault by penetration under section 2 of the Sexual Offences Act 2003.
Kerry's been remanded in custody to appear at Norwich Magistrates Court tomorrow morning.
