Suffolk Police are investigating after shots were reportedly fired during an argument between a group of people in Cardinal Park in Ipswich this morning.
They were called just after 3am this morning to reports that shots had been heard in the Grafton Way area of Ipswich.
Officers attended, took accounts from those at the scene and found several shell cases outside premises at Cardinal Park.
It is not thought to have been live ammunition and no one was injured. An area has been cordoned off while an examination is made of the scene.
It is thought one man fired the blanks and police are investigating exactly what happened, however at this stage it's thought it may have been a dispute between several individuals.
While officers were at the scene they arrested a man on suspicion of criminal damage after a vehicle was found with its windows smashed and this is believed to be linked to the incident. The 21-year-old Ipswich man arrested remains in custody as police continue enquiries to locate others thought to have been involved.
Detectives are appealing for any further witnesses to come forward. If you can help please call Suffolk Police on 101, quoting crime number 48278/17.
