No concerns over Sizewell

Despite the power station dangers highlighted by the earthquake and tsunami in Japan, locals living near the Sizewell station in Suffolk remain confident that there are no safety issues.

Although the problems in Japan were caused by the biggest earthquake the country had ever seen, anti-nuclear campaigners have called it a wake up call for the sizewell power station.

The cooling systems of two reactors at the Fukushima No.1 nuclear power plant failed after the earthquake struck last week, but Mike King who lives opposite the Sizewell site is telling Heart he has no worries about his safety:

" We are very confident that the security measures that are in place are fine, and we feel fairly confident that we're safe and secure.

Everyone is concerned where there is a nuclear power station but nobody would live here unless they felt confident things were going to be OK"
