Dozens of his friends have took to social media to pay tribute to the teenager.
The 13-year-old boy who died after being shot with a firearm has been named locally as Ben Wragge.
The teenager is understood to have lived around six miles from the village of Thurston, Suffolk, where he was fatally injured.
A post mortem investigation into the death has confirmed that he died as a result of an injury caused by an air pellet.
Two teenagers have been arrested in connection with the offence and have been bailed pending further enquiries.
They are due to return to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre on Thursday 16 June.
A Facebook memorial page set up in his name reads: "This page is in memory of Ben Wragge a dear friend gone but never forgotten."
