Staff have been threatened and money has been stolen during an armed robbery on Canvey Island.
A man went into the Co-Op on Linden Way at around 8.45pm on Saturday, threatened staff with a gun before stealing £75.
He then left and was joined by another man who had been waiting outside.
They made off on foot and, despite searching the area, police could not find them.
Essex Police said: "The man who threatened staff is described as white, around 6ft tall, of slim build and aged 20 to 25. He was wearing a grey hooded top, a blue scarf over his face, and a hip length military style jacket.
"The second suspect is described as white, of slim building wearing a dark hooded top, dark trousers, and dark trainers with white laces.
"Anyone who was in the area at the time and saw the two men or who has any information can call Detective Sergeant Phil Smith of Southend CID on 101 or ring Crimestoppers anonymously
