Battlesbridge: Man Hurt In Machete Attack

A man in his 20s has been badly injured following a machete attack in Battlesbridge yesterday evening (Sunday December 18th).

It happened in Hayes Chase, near The Lodge Country Inn between 5pm and 5:30pm.

The victim received serious injuries to his body and head. He was taken in a van to Runwell Road, near the Toby Carvery, where the driver of the van called police.

The victim was taken to hospital where he is in a serious but stable condition awaiting surgery.

The driver of the van has provided a statement to officers.

Ds Gary Robinson said: "This was a vicious assault which detectives believe took place in the Hayes Chase area in the early evening of Sunday December 18. I would ask anyone who saw the incident, or who saw any suspicious behaviour in the area between around 5pm and 5:30pm, to contact me by calling 101, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111."
