Essex police are looking for a man following an armed robbery at a garage on Canvey Island.

The attack happened just after 10:30pm on Thursday March 29th.

The offender entered the Texaco garage shop on Somnes Avenue and threatened staff with a knife, forcing them to hand over a three-figure sum of cash. He then ran off towards the town centre.

Investigating Officer, Dc Neil Hudson, said: "We hope that someone can help us to identify this man and certainly before he tries to commit another robbery. As you may see, he was wearing light clothing which would have stood out on that Thursday night, especially when he ran off from the station forecourt."

He is described as white, in his 30s and approximately 5ft 8ins tall.
