Colchester Police Make Murder Inquiry Arrest

Detectives investigating the murder of a man in Colchester this week have made an arrest this morning.

The body of a 52 year-old man was found at a flat in Forest Road, Greenstead, on Wednesday (August 22).

This morning, around 7.30am, a 32 year-old man from Colchester was arrested on suspicion of murder and is now in custody.

On Friday, August 24, a post-mortem examination was held and established the provisional cause of death to be from multiple stab wounds.

Formal identification is yet to take place.

The investigation into his murder continues to progress and detectives have spoken to residents of the local area and continue to review CCTV.

Detectives are particularly interested in speaking to anyone who witnessed anything near Penrice Close and Forest Road between 11pm on Tues (21st) and 245pm on Wednesday (22nd).
