Dale Farm: Road Closure Info

2 September 2011, 17:33 | Updated: 2 September 2011, 17:35

Essex County Council has brought in some temporary road restrictions near Dale Farm.

Oak Road, Crays Hill will be temporarily closed between its junction with Hardings Elms Road and its junction with Gardiners Lane North in the interests of public safety and to ensure that there is a clear route for an Emergency Service vehicles. Access to properties of Oak Road & Oak Lane will be maintained. Alternative Route will be via Hardings Elms Road, A129 & Gardiners Lane and vice versa.

Temporary 50mph speed restriction will come into effect on the Southend bound carriageway of the A127 from the A176 to the A132
It is anticipated it will remain in place for four weeks – although this is subject to change. It is being implemented in the interests of safety due to concerns that there may be increased vehicle movements from the site, particularly slow moving towing vehicles joining the A127.

Temporary no stopping restriction on the A127
The temporary stopping restriction is in place on the footway or verge of both carriageways of the A127 Southend Arterial Road between the junction with the Southend bound on-slip from the A176 and its junction with the off slip to the A132. This is in place in the interests of public safety due to ongoing speed restrictions and associated highway works.

Lay by closed on the A127
Essex County Council will temporarily close the lay by on the north side of the A127 Southend Arterial Road from a point 815 metres east of the junction with Pipps Hill Rd North eastwards for a distance of approximately 80 metres in the interests of public safety due to ongoing highway works and to mitigate any effects on traffic when the site clearance begins at Dale Farm should it be deemed necessary.
