Essex Security Boss On Paedophile Charges

A security boss from Essex working at the Olympics site has been accused of paedophile offences.

David Thorneycroft, 50, was charged with attempting to groom a girl under 16 on the internet, Scotland Yard confirmed.

He is also accused of possessing indecent images of children.

Thorneycroft, of Newcastle Avenue, Colchester, was working in security training at the Olympic Park in Stratford, east London, officers said.

He was arrested in central London by officers from the force's paedophile unit on November 1st and charged the following day.

He was remanded in custody as he appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court on November 3rd.
