Fire Engine And Car Collide In Basildon

A woman has been cut out of her car after a collision with a fire engine that was answering an emergency call in Basildon.

It happened on Broadmayne at around 8.40am today (24 March).

Essex Police said: "It involved a fire engine and a silver mini.

"The fire engine was answering an emergency call.

"The woman driver of the mini was treated at the scene by paramedics.

"The road is closed and the incident is ongoing.

"Any witnesses to the collision who have not yet spoken to officers are asked to call Essex Police on 101".

An investigation into the crash is underway.
