23 year old Cory Baptiste of Fanns Rise, Purfleet taught at the Ockendon Academy up until his arrest in January.
He is alleged to have used fake social media accounts to commit the offences - and will appear in court next month.
A former teacher has been charged with a number of online sexual offences and has been bailed to appear at Basildon Magistrates Court on May 26.
Cory Baptiste, 23, from Fanns Rise, Purfleet, was a teacher at the Ockendon Academy up until his arrest by Essex Police in January.
An Essex Police investigation was launched following a referral from the National Crime Agency.
Mr Baptiste is alleged to have been using fake social media accounts including Facebook and Snapchat in the names of Daniel Jenkins, Danielle Mason and Dan Bounce Genny to commit the offences.
He has been charged with five offences of abuse of a position of trust: one of causing or inciting sexual activity with a boy aged 13-17, one of causing or inciting sexual activity with a girl aged 13-17, one of causing a child under 13 to watch a sexual act and two of causing a child aged 13-17 to watch a sexual act.
