Heart Breakfast with Jamie Theakston and Lucy Horobin 6:30am - 10am
If the thought of a 'fat-fighters' style group is putting you off losing weight then one-to-one sessions, run by the NHS in part of Essex, might be more appealing.
'My Weight Matters' is a 5 week course in Colchester and Tendring offering free advice on diet, exercise and understanding food labels.
It's being rolled out over the whole of North East Essex after a successful trial in four areas, with the aim to help people who do not want to discuss weight management in groups.
Mel Idroos, Health Promotion Coordinator at NHS North East Essex Provider Services, says: "Clients are seen on an individual basis and, with the support of a fully trained facilitator, they work their way through a series of self-help guides."
"This part of the programme lasts five weeks and each session takes just fifteen minutes."
"After this time they can attend on a drop-in basis to be weighed and share their progress towards a healthier lifestyle with one of our Health Champions".
'My Weight Matters' is free to anyone eighteen or older living in North East Essex, with a body mass index greater than or equal to 28.
Anyone interested should call 01206 363002.
